De Klerk was speaking following an exclusive evening on The World, at which Master Developer Nakheel hosted a number of the high profile speakers from the Leaders in Dubai conference, including Former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, Spencer Johnson, Daniel Pink, Scott Bedbury, Arie de Geus and Kenchi Ohmae.
The guests enjoyed a trip across the moonlit Arabian Gulf, before experiencing the luxury island retreat of 'Greenland', the 'show island' of The World.
Speaking on the island, Nobel Peace Prize winner de Klerk, said: "The realist in me asks how can this be done? But the idealist in me congratulates you and says God speed. We will be watching you every centimetre, every metre, every kilometre of your progress."
Prior to travelling to the island, the guests were greeted by Nakheel's management at the Master Developer's Sales Centre, where they received a presentation on Nakheel's extensive projects. Once on the luxury island, they enjoyed a memorable evening under the stars.
Welcoming the guests to the island along with Hamza Mustafa, General Manager of The World, James Wilson, CEO of Nakheel said:
