Etisalat Academy launches new branch in Sudan

H.E. Mohammed Hassan Omran, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Telecommunications Corporation - Etisalat, H.E. Abdullah Al Fadel, Chairman of Unity Company together with several top executives of Etisalat, opened a new branch of Etisalat Academy during the celebrations of the inauguration of Canar Telecommunications Company in Khartoum, Sudan.
The guests of the opening toured the new building of the Etisalat Academy and visited the differently equipped training rooms, the advanced computer laboratories and the e-competency center. The branch manager provided a comprehensive presentation about the strategic plans and objectives for the future.
The Etisalat Academy branch aims to provide professional training and career development programs to improve the qualifications and skills of both governmental and private sectors employees as well as graduates from different specialties. The branch will also launch the e-learning educational programme ('EasyLearning Initiative') which is sponsored by the UN as one of the unique initiatives of the Group-77, represented exclusively by Etisalat Academy in 135 developing countries including Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya and Chad. Etisalat Academy's branch through this initiative is supporting the plan of building the electronic community in Sudan and the upcoming project of e-Government. Executives and directors of governmental and private departments and organizations in Sudan will be invited to an introduction about the branch programs and courses.
Programs provided by the branch will cover a variety of skills for different sectors. Skills such as administrative, accountancy, marketing, sales, supervision and management, customer service and information technology are fundamental to prepare those who aim to obtain professional and technical accredited certificates. Other programs will also be available in the branch such as CPA, CMF and CMA as well as CAT and other world-wide programs.
About the initiative, Mr. Omran said: "The reputation the Academy has gained for its contributions in developing human resources in a number of government and private establishments inside and outside the UAE as well as its role in bridging between the growing market requirements of manpower and the outcome of the educational institutes, has encouraged us to expand the Academy's services regionally. The Sudan branch is the first branch to fulfill this vision. The branch aims to provide excellent training and educational programs to the youth of Sudan, especially now after the peace-treaty that has been signed between North and South Sudan."
Al Fadel addressed the leading role of Etisalat and the Academy in sponsoring the knowledge society initiatives and enrich communities with providing the latest telecommunications technologies. Al Fadel has also praised the regional reputation of the Academy and mentioned that the branch employs qualified training personnel and features advanced equipment to make it a center of excellence for providing different professional and technical training programs.
Dr. Doaa Fares, added that the Etisalat Academy is an exclusive representative of a number of major professional and technical international organizations from the US and Europe. The Academy has been accredited to be the Middle East first regional center for testing and certify IT security engineers after receiving their accredited certifications from the (ISC)2. Etisalat Academy hosts the examinations of this certificate twice every year in the presence of experts and specialists from East Europe, Middle East and GCC regions as well as representatives of international human resources development organizations and companies.
