Each year, the magazine selects several new products for recognition, choosing those that will have the greatest impact on advancing the effectiveness and strategic value of corporate training.

The Enterprise English Assessment Service is an online tool that can accurately measure the English language proficiency of thousands of employees across a broad, geographically distributed workforce in less than an hour. Specifically, global human resource and training professionals are using it to:
- Establish the scope and scale of their organizations' communication challenges as they relate to English skills.

- Identify the regions or groups that have the most pressing need for English instruction--and will benefit most from training support.

- Determine global priorities for English language training and allocate training resources more accurately.

- Pave the way for performance improvement by implementing an objective English language assessment against which they can set individual training objectives.

Paul Gledhill director of Xpert Learning says, 'we are seeing e-Learning grow at a phenomenal rate in the Middle East and just as the Chinese market capitalised on online English language this region is following suit.'

"One of the most challenging elements of a global workforce development program is assessing the need for training interventions. Each year, global corporations waste millions of dollars on under-utilized training programs," said Ron Hoge, President and CEO of GlobalEnglish. "GlobalEnglish created the Enterprise English Assessment Service to help organizations accurately identify their English language training needs so they can quickly and efficiently deliver a program to meet those needs."

The password-protected Enterprise English Assessment Service is hosted 100% online and is therefore scalable for 100 to 100,000 employees. The administrative tools enable easy registration and management of the test takers, with an integration capability that permits simple cross-registration into the GlobalEnglish Corporate Learning Service™.

The assessment service provides instructions, navigation, and results in 13 native languages and includes three online elements: The Business English Level Indicator Test™, English Needs Profile Questions, and Assessment Reporting.

GlobalEnglish® was awarded its prize during a luncheon ceremony at the Technology Conference & Exposition in Chicago.
