LPGS recently set up its operations at Dubai Internet City (DIC) to handle Middle East, Africa and Asia-wide business opportunities, in October 2005.

Company officials, quoting LPGS market research studies, see a clear and present opportunity in the technology security segment. Enterprise in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) currently only spend 5 percent of their technology budgets, which are predicted to reach AED 603.9 million, on security, a ratio that is set to sky rocket given the sudden spike in network and Internet security awareness due to recent devastating malicious threats.

The partnership will see LPGS act as a Value-Add Distributor managing channel development, sales and support for SafeNet partners and customers in the Middle East region.

"SafeNet recognizes the value of the Middle East market, which has one of the highest technology adoption rates in the world. Our strategy over the short to medium term is to build a team of seasoned professionals familiar with this region dedicated to developing and supporting our valued channel partners and thereby increasing our market share," said Gary Clarke, VP, EMEA, & Pakistan for SafeNet. "Today's move demonstrates our ongoing commitment to serving the needs of customers in the region and is a testament to the growing demand for services and products which continues to exceed expectations."

In recent years SafeNet acquired or merged with some of the leading information security companies, including Cylink Corporation, Rainbow Technologies, Chrysalis-ITS, Datakey and most recent Eracom, to become a single source security company offering the most comprehensive product lines in security technology such as a full offering of VPN, WAN and top secret security products (including KIV-7, Fortezza and satellite link encryption) which dramatically accelerate SafeNet's penetration of the substantial financial, government, enterprise security market. The addition of SafeNet's Borderless Security iGate SSL VPN, iKey USB authentication tokens, 330 Smartcards, Single Sign On and Disk Encryption strengthen SafeNet's competitive position in the commercial market. Sentinel gives SafeNet the leading position in the high growth digital rights management.

"LP Global Solutions was established by experienced professionals from the United States and the Middle East region to take advantage of high potential emerging markets. We have a strong emphasis on the Middle East and other opportunities within the Asian-African region," said Jim Turner, President and CEO of the company. "Our growth plans in the region and beyond are aggressive and ambitious, especially in the technology security and telecommunications sectors, that we feel will experience exponential growth over the coming five years. In order to achieve our objectives, we have built a focused team with rich experience in the arena. We have appointed Asad Haque as Director - Marketing and Sales to spearhead LPGS strategy and establish LPGS as best-of-breed Company with world-class solutions, services and standards to serve channel and customer needs across the region."

LPGS is well equipped to achieve its ambitions and handle the opportunities in the security sector. The company is backed by a strong infrastructure and financial commitment. Presently with its HQ office in Dubai, the plan is to have representation offices in Riyadh, Amman and Karachi.

LPGS offers a wide range of products including encryption solutions, biometric authentication systems, high-availability VPNs, site control devices to cryptographic techniques and ID-card systems.

Other regional partnerships developed with LPGS in the region include MCI, Huawei Technologies, and many other world renowned companies. The company's services cover a broad range of technology related sectors and disciplines from technology strategy consulting services, application management and outsourcing, enterprise portals, e-commerce, telecommunications Services (via wireless, fiber, and satellite), IP Communications Services and security products and consulting services.
