BMW Group confirmed last month that the new model will reach series production from May next year at the BMW factory in Spartenburg, South Carolina, USA, with the first vehicles being delivered to Middle East customers shortly afterwards.
"The Z4 Coupé is a genuine pacemaker for the sports car aficionado in every respect," said Guenther Seemann, Managing Director, BMW Group Middle East. "It makes the heart of the sports car enthusiast quite literally skip a beat.
"This is the kind of car only BMW engineers and designers could create, a two-seater to which they have given all their passion. By creating this unique car, BMW is once again setting new trends in design, motoring concepts and technology."
The Z4 Coupé's 265 bhp in-line 6-cylinder engine ensures superior agility, not just due to supreme output but also because of low weight resulting from the use of magnesium. It not only catapults the Z4 Coupé to the top of the international competitive field but is also evidence of the enormous performance capacity of the fundamental BMW Z4 Roadster concept - which forms the basis of the coupé.
Activities have also been intensified which are aimed at providing passionate sporty drivers with even higher expectations of power and agility with a high-end variation as quickly as possible. The result is the Z4 M Coupé. With the 343 bhp high-rpm engine, familiar from the BMW M3 and winner of many international awards, the M chassis and M specific body, it will also come out in June 2006 to quicken the pulse of the world's sports coupé connoisseurs.
