A high-level DSF delegation is travelling with the road show to all these countries, armed with a friendly invitation to one and everyone in the GCC to come witness the world's most extravagant shopping and entertainment festival, enjoy the hospitality of the UAE for 32 entertaining days.
The DSF team to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to Oman is led by DSF CEO Saeed Al Nabouda while the other GCC countries will see DSF COO Ibrahim Saleh holding forth on DSF 2006, and handing out the invitation while the joint DSF and Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) organised workshops hosting a large delegation from the Dubai hospitality, travel trade and rent-a-car companies will also unveil their offers at some of the destinations for the GCC visitors.

The DSF Road Show will not only give a glimpse of what awaits the Gulf visitor at DSF 2006 but also allow him a peep at 'New Dubai', shaping up in the emirate of Dubai, which is redefining the entire concept of the Dubai Shopping Festival itself.

Al Nabouda and Ibrahim Saleh will inform the Gulf visitor of the significance of the 11th edition of the Dubai Shopping Festival, which will also herald the beginning of a new decade for the shopping and entertainment extravaganza which has captured the imagination of the world.

"We want all families in the Gulf to come and be part of the world's most innovative shopping and entertainment festival - one that has set international standards - in the motivating ambience of new Dubai, a dream shaping up in the United Arab Emirates," Al Nabouda said at a Press conference held at the Grand Hyatt in Muscat yesterday while on his mission to inform, and invite.

Hailing the friendship between the countries of the GCC and UAE, he said DSF 2006 has in store a array of events that will gladden the hearts and buoy the minds of visitors. "This edition of the popular shopping festival is the beginning of a new decade for DSF, which is set to dazzle the world all over once again," he said.
"Visitors to DSF 2006 can expect the world, and get it," Ibrahim Saleh said, while finalising his journey to sum up the significance of DSF 2006 to the peoples of UAE's neighbouring countries. "DSF 2006 has taken into consideration the tastes and preferences of the Gulf visitor, his leanings and we have lined up a bonanza of events that will remain with him forever. The discerning visitor from the Gulf will not be disappointed with the impressive events calendar laid out for him," he said.

Saeed Al Nabouda said that after winning the hearts of millions worldwide in the first decade of its existence, Dubai Shopping Festival of 2006 was looking forward to set new standards of excellence, and the Gulf visitor will see a DSF that will keep up with the times even while remaining moored to the traditional roots and culture of the Arab World. Al Nabouda took this opportunity to thank the Emirates airlines and Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM). "At the outset, I would like to express my gratitude to Emirates airlines, one of our key sponsors, and our international media partners DTCM for their support in promoting Dubai and the DSF through their representative offices located all over the world."

Al Nabouda said the DSF, with its unforgettable and now internationally known "One World. One Family One Festival" theme, would continue to strengthen the strong ties that exist between the UAE and the rest of the Gulf countries.

The DSF CEO said DSF 2005 received upwards of 3.3 million visitors, and DSF 2006 expected even more with an exciting array of new events lined up for the entire family, for people of all nationalities, events that would take the breath away but would also leave people asking for more.

Stressing on the huge visitor arrivals from countries in the Gulf, Al Nabouda said this was lasting proof of the appeal the shopping and cultural fest held for people of GCC and of their friendship and love for the people of UAE.

Ibrahim Saleh said the UAE is one of the pioneers of the Shopping Festival concept and thus has a lot to offer for Gulf visitors. He said the regional media in all these countries have also been playing an exemplary role in highlighting the cultural importance of the DSF for the people of the Arab World.

The DSF Road Show is urging the regional media in the GCC countries to participate in the regional category of DSF2006 Journalism Award that offers attractive cash prizes.

Major Omar Al Shamsi, Member of the DSF Organising Committee and Chief of the PR & Protocol Department, Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department (DNRD), said that a warm royal welcome awaited Gulf families to the friendly emirate of Dubai. Regarding the smooth arrival of visitors from the region, he said that DSF 2006 would see an organised system that ensured that travel documents would be processed in no time, thus enabling a hassle-free start to the festivities.

The Dubai Shopping Festival runs between January 4 and February 4, 2006.
