After working within the hotel industry for more than 30 years, Mr Jorgensen brings a wealth of experience to his new role having held managerial positions at properties across the world, including the UK, America, Indonesia, Europe and now the Middle East.
The Danish father-of-two attributes his career success to a neighbour's words, saying, "It was a wise neighbour, who always was right in what they said, told me I would fit right into the hotel industry. I know I took the right decision - it's not because I have to do the job, it's because I love it."
After working with InterContinental Hotels Group for 10 years, Jorgensen is a strong believer in the InterContinental brand and is looking forward to taking on his new role at the landmark property, which this year celebrated its 30th anniversary of providing 5-star service to visitors, making it the longest serving 5-star property in the country.
"This hotel has established itself as a cornerstone within the industry and has gained respect in the community with its services and staff, which are fantastic and have kept the InterContinental spirit that guests are used to,"
said Jorgensen.
Speaking about the well-accomplished hotel professional overseeing operations for one of the region's most premier properties, Chris Moloney, Chief Operating Officer, InterContinental Hotels Group, Middle East and Africa, said: "At InterContinental Hotels Group we are dedicated to delivering quality and service and with the vast experience the Mr Jorgensen brings, we are committed to continue to exceed the expectations of our guests at all times."
Due to the hotel's prime location, the InterContinental Dubai has witnessed the phenomenal growth of Dubai and the amazing changes made as it seeks to establish itself as one of the premier cities in the world.
