"The extensive Renault range on display at the Motor Show effectively showcases the vast range and adaptability of the brand, both in terms of design and technological innovation. Arabian Automobiles is well placed to create a niche for the Renault brand among UAE consumers, who demand the best, both in terms of performance and road handling, from their vehicles. We forecast being among the top three European car distributors in the UAE by the year 2007. We are confident car enthusiasts will understand and appreciate the inherent strengths of Renault, Europe's number one car brand,"
said Michel Ayat, General Manager, Arabian Automobiles, exclusive dealers for Renault in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
"From the sporty Mégane Coupé-Cabriolet to the compact yet powerful Clio range, Renault's brand platform offers features that appeal to every type of car driver. The Clio III - voted Euro Car of the Year 2006 makes it first appearance in the GCC region at the Motor Show. Clio III is the eighth Renault model to achieve a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating," he added.
During the motor show, the show stopper is Renault's FI car which was driven by Fernando Alonso, Formula One's youngest-ever champion. The car further underlines Renault's technological superiority and comprehensive motoring dominance.
The Mégane Coupé-Cabriolet, an elegant coupé with the travelling pleasure of a cabriolet is part of Renault's line-up at the show. It is the first vehicle with a folding metal/glass roof fitted as standard and is equipped with the latest safety features. While the Coupé-Cabriolet and the Clio Sport will continue to draw attention, auto enthusiasts at the motor show can also view the recently launched Laguna in 2006.
The Laguna is available in 2.0l and 2.0l 'turbo' engine, equipped with the Renault Intelligent Card allowing key-free engine ignition, automatic hand brake and Alcantra seats besides automatic climate control, automatic headlights and automatic rain sensing wipers. With safety features such as six airbags, ABS/EBD with BA and anti-whiplash head restraints, the new Laguna follows its predecessor which was the first car in the world to achieve the maximum 5-star rating in the Euro NCAP tests.
As the only auto-makers with eight models earning five star rating in the authoritative Euro NCAP safety tests, Renault also boasts the safest line-up in the market. Renault now has eight cars with five safety stars: Clio III, Modus, Espace, Vel Satis, Laguna, Scenic, Mégane and Mégane Coupé - Cabriolet.
The Renault Espace, with 35.11 points out of a possible 36, is officially the safest car on the road! Renault's commitment to safety has also earned it the "Safety Award" in 2005 for the fifth consecutive year from the UK motoring magazine What Car?
