Hundreds of women including their families are visiting Women Expo 2005, which is ongoing at the Oman International Exhibition Centre in Seeb until December 16.
"The exhibition has all the things needed and wanted by women," stressed C.J. Paul, general manager of Omanexpo LLC, the leading events management company in the sultanate. "Many visitors have been pleasantly surprised and were truly impressed by what they've seen at the exhibition."
The major exhibitors at Women Expo 2005 include Damas, MHD-Avon, The Patisserie, Muscat Pharmacy, Toys R Us, The Body Shop, Muscat Private Hospital, A'Saffa Poultry Farms, and Elixer Health Centre. Paul pointed out that many exhibitors have spared no expense in constructing beautifully designed stalls that everyone should see.
In addition to wide choices in garments, shoes, jewelries and beauty products, Women Expo 2005 also presents the educational programs being offered by Oman Tourism College, the British Training Institute, Mazoon College, the U.S. Embassy, Oman Medical College, Caledonian College, and the Omani Institute of Vocational Training.
A group of exhibitors from Brunei Darussalam is also at the exhibition to introduce halal food products, garments, and other high-quality products. Arts and crafts are also featured at Women Expo 2005 with the participation of the Public Authority for Craft Industries, Oman Heritage Gallery, the Ministry of Heritage and Culture, and the Omani Women Association at Seeb.
Paul pointed out that another major attraction for visitors is the series of seminars and workshops being conducted alongside the exhibition. On the schedule for Wednesday, December 14 are health seminars focusing on topics such as birth spacing, prevention of accidents involving children, infertility, cancers affecting women, and preventive health in women.
The workshops, on the other hand, will tackle the causes of skin ageing, Japanese paper craft, glass painting and wax carving, jewellery making, a mini facial and make-up demonstration, napkin folding techniques, and vegetable decoration. A cultural program is also being conducted in the evening by the Omani Women's Sports Development Committee, which is under the Ministry of Sports Affairs.
Women Expo 2005 is open from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and then from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Admission is for ladies and families only.
