The event created by Grand Hyatt Dubai introduced a host of top chefs, restaurateurs and wine makers from round the world during a week of cooking demonstrations, seminars and studio dinners.
Peter Fulton, General Manager, Grand Hyatt Dubai enthused:' We are delighted with the success of this first summit. The event provided both food connoisseurs and those in the hospitality with the chance to learn the latest in international trends in gourmet cuisine as well as position Dubai as a serious gourmet destination.'
Fulton added: 'In 2006 Grand Hyatt Dubai will invite more of the world's top restaurateurs, chef and wine makers to share their expertise and discover the culinary delights within Dubai.'
Popular gourmet activities during the summit included the 'Healthy Wine, Healthy Food' seminar. Vietnamese chef David Thai and French wine producer Pascal Jolivet explained how wine matched with certain foods has a positive effect on your health.
The unusual themed dinner 'Hudson Valley Foie Gras' hosted by American chefs Michael Ginor and Michael Schlow engaged diners in an extravagant 5 course dinner with each course focussed on Foie Gras.
Live cooking stations set the stage for great entertainment as Le Cordon Bleu chef Marc Chapolin and Michelin star chef Davide Brovelli revealed their culinary secrets in a series of open cooking demonstrations.
The spectacular grand finale brought together all 18 of the master chefs and wine makers for the themed 'Dess'art' cocktail gala attended by over 400 guests.
