The meeting was headed by Mr. Tariq Hilal Lootah, Director of Trade and Industrial Development Department in DCCI, Mohammed Hassan Al Khatib, Business Development Manager, and His Excellency Walter Leuchs, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in the UAE. The meeting was also attended by the members of the German delegation which included managers of a number of the top vocational training centers in Germany and representatives of some business councils and groups in Dubai.
Mr. Lootah welcomed the German delegation stressing the significance of their visit to the DCCI to meet with heads of some trade and industrial companies to discuss their needs of vocational training programs. He said that holding such meetings is one of the DCCI's goals in providing the best services to the local and international business communities with the aim to enhance the relations between Dubai and the countries which these business communities represent.
"Hosting this meeting at the DCCI contributes effectively to the enhancement of the trade and economic relations between Dubai and Germany which is considered as one of the top commercial partners to Dubai in particular, and to the UAE in general. These good relations have been positively reflected during the economic partnership forum between the UAE and Germany which was held in Essen City last May," said Mr. Lootah.
His Excellency Walter Leuchs, Consul General of Germany in the UAE, praised the distinguished trade relations between the two countries and the increasing growth of trade exchange between Dubai and Germany. Mrs. Sabine Gummersbach-Majoroh, Director of iMOVE which has organized the visit of the Germany delegation to Dubai and which is considered as an initiative established by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research in Germany, stressed that Germany enjoys a worldwide reputation in the field of specialized training which is based on one of the most international qualified vocational training systems that focus on manual practice and meeting the requirements of the labor market.
"The meeting provides a good opportunity for the German vocational training centers and organizations to promote their advanced training programs before the representatives of different economic sectors in Dubai and to discuss the type of training programs required by these sectors," said Mrs. Gummersbach-Majoroh.
Members of the German delegation introduced the activities of their institutions training programs which include vocational, educational and medical training, qualifying human resources in the field of chemistry, information technology, trade businesses, consultations, and enterprises, in addition to other specialized training programs for managers on companies' strategies.

Mr. Lootah, Director of Trade and Industrial Development Department in the DCCI, said: "The DCCI established the Dubai University College some years ago as a service to the local society, and we started also holding a number of training courses for our employees and other nationals aiming to help them cope with the economic development which Dubai is witnessing, and we still need more vocational training programs to qualify our manpower practically to help them create a strong economy."
