"Fleet sales have always been, and will continue to be, an important part of our growth strategy for the region," said Hussein Murad, Sales & Marketing director, Ford Middle East.

"This event has helped reinforce customer relationships and allowed our fleet sales team to make a strong start in the GCC next year, especially with the introduction of all the new products to our line-up."

Held from December 11-13, the event previewed the 2006 Ford, Lincoln and Mercury product portofolio, and coincided with the Middle East International Motor Show at the Dubai International Exhibition and Convention Centre. The event also involved a series of test drives at the Dubai Autodrome of the latest Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles including the all-new 2006 Ford Explorer and Mercury Mountaineer.

Murad said: "Improvements in the powertrains and features of our 2006 product line-up increase the longevity and residual value of our products. With more than US$100 million invested in our dealerships in the last two years, our service capacity in the region has increased significantly. This allows us to cater to the service requirements of our fleet customers more efficiently."
