Various Nissan cars have also been rated as best in their categories

The awards have been announced at the Middle East International Motor Show in Dubai by Wheels & Gears, the Middle East's leading English-language motoring publication, along with Gear One TV.

Nissan also featured prominently in the Autocar awards that were presented during the motor show, as well as awards for 3 of its cars by Future TV and Automobile motoring magazine.

Wheels & Gears considered Nissan the best car manufacturer for the 2nd consecutive year, and judged Nissan models as follows:
Nissan Armada - Best Large SUV
Nissan Altima - Best Medium Sedan
Nissan TIIDA - Best Compact Car
Infiniti G35 - Best Luxury medium

Autocar's honours went to Nissan Armada as best large SUV. The third award for Armada as best large Japanese SUV was given by Future TV an Automobile magazine. The same media also gave Altima the best medium sized Japanese car and Tiida the best small Japanese car.

Editors from all media tested every vehicle launched in the Middle East during 2005 before reaching their decision.

"Nissan was chosen simply because it has so many active facets that, by careful design and unwavering intent, affect everyone who comes in touch with the company," according to one of the awards judges.

He highlighted five key areas of Nissan superiority - design, quality, range, service, and citizenship.

"Design is exceptionally advanced and amazingly innovative, functional yet futuristic," he said. "Quality is a hallmark of Nissan's ultimately dependable products, and in its range, Nissan has ensured that there is something for every purpose, wallet, and taste.

"Although service is a subjective issue, Nissan has made its intentions crystal clear - do business with us and you get service to really smile about. As for citizenship, Nissan's support of local training and education, environmental initiatives, motor sports, and a host of other events make it an exemplary corporate citizen of the Middle East."

Takeshi Nakajima, deputy managing director of Nissan Middle East, said the awards reflect the success of the 'enhancing the organization' programme that has been implemented over the past few years.

"Customers are increasingly discerning and demanding, so customer satisfaction is always a top priority," he commented. "But instead of just satisfying our customers, we want to delight them and I am confident that these awards will motivate us to achieve and maintain even higher standards."
