Dubai seeks closer tourism ties with Tanzania

The Director General of Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM, Mr. Khalid A bin Sulayem, met with the Tanzanian Consul General in Dubai, Mr. Ali Ahmed Saleh at the DTCM Head Office recently.

During the meeting, Mr. bin Sulayem discussed different options of increasing Dubai's share of trade and tourism with Tanzania. Both the officials agreed that there was a huge potential for exploring tourism opportunities in Tanzania and exchange of tourists between the two countries.

Mr. Ali said that the Tanzania's Ministry of Tourism was keen to cooperate with the Dubai government to know more about Dubai's success as a world-class travel and trade destination.

Mr. bin Sulayem outlined Dubai's achievements in the year 2005 which is expected to be another year of spectacular success for its vibrant economy.

The fast-expanding tourism industry has been a prime mover of the economy, enhancing its enormous contribution to the GDP and attracting huge foreign investments.
