American University in Dubai hosts the first "Volunteer Fair" on its campus

The Department of Student Services at American University in Dubai (AUD) recently hosted the first "Volunteer Fair" in collaboration with major charity and volunteer organizations such as "Medecins Sans Frontiers", "World Food Programme", "Al Noor Center for Special Needs" and the "Red Crescent Society".
Dania Bazzy, Director of External Affairs at AUD commented, "It is such a privilege to have such great organizations on our campus. We always strive to instigate a sense of motivation and dedication in our students; not only in their professional career, but also in the development of their social responsibility, and consequently their contribution to their communities."
Various activities took place at the event that included presentations by the guest organizations, Q & A's and volunteer sign ups.
Organizations at the fair included local and international bodies, conducting charitable activities all over the globe. Many students signed up as volunteers and had a choice to participate with any charity organization at the fair.
AUD's student body has carried out many charitable activities this semester such as the Week of Care during the holy month of Ramadan where the students participated in different activities to display their empathy towards the victims of the recent natural calamities around the world.
In addition, the students organized a visit at the Dubai Hospital - Pediatric Renal Failure and Cancerous Patients wards to cheer up children by sharing stories, playing, decorating rooms, and giving small toys.
AUD also held a charity concert recently, another initiative by their student body, where all the proceeds of the events were forwarded to the Pakistani earthquake victims.

The American University in Dubai is a private, non-sectarian institution of higher learning founded in 1995. Fall 2005, enrolment is 2,356 students representing eighty nationalities.AUD offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees.
