In addition, the organisers of DSF will be giving away further Dh6.5 million in MashreqMillionaire prizes at the daily Lexus raffle draws.

As a long term supporter of DSF, Mashreqbank will be staging an extra-special MashreqMillionaire draw on the first day of the festival where the first prize will be massive Dh4 million multiplier draws, a prize of Dh1 million and a further 200 winners will get Dh5,000 each.

Then throughout the festival there will be weekly draws for Dh250, 000 plus on the last day, 4 February, an additional draw for another Dh1 million jackpot.

And in celebration of the close ties between the organizers of DSF and the bank, in addition to giving away two Lexus cars every day of the fest, lucky raffle winners will also be getting a total of Dh6.5 million worth of MashreqMillionaire savings certificates. Every day one raffle winner will get Dh100,000 and on every Thursday, five lucky winners will each win Dh100,000 in MashreqMillionaire certificates.

Atif Bajwa, Senior Vice-President of Head and Retail Banking Group at Mashreqbank, one of the DSF's key-sponsors, said the DSF had become a significant contributor to the Dubai economy.

"Mashreqbank's goal in supporting the DSF is to further stimulate the economy by injecting additional funds into the system. This not only benefits our customers but has a multiplier effect in other sectors including our partners, Dubai retailers and other key sponsors,"

Bajwa said at a press conference held today.

Mashreqbank is also sponsoring the Circus Oz which will be staging performances at the Dubai Exhibition Centre Hall Three from 11 to 13 January 2006.

Saeed Al-Nabouda, CEO of DSF, said: "We are extremely grateful for the active support of Mashreqbank who never fail to come up with something new to energise the festival. By giving away MashreqMillionaire certificates we not only give away the face value of each certificate, but also the chance to win even larger prizes."

DSF 2006 is expected to showcase once again the best in retail, entertainment, and cultural promotions and events to further enhance the UAE's profile in the global tourism and retailing industry.

"The DSF now attracts shoppers from all over the world. Supporting the DSF initiative helps to energise commercial sectors from airlines and hotels to souks, and when the business community prospers, so does the banking community," Bajwa said.

"We were very pleased with the public's response to our DSF 2005 campaign, so once again Mashreqbank is planning promotions to increase the public's spending power for the festival and add value to Dubai's economy," he added.
