5th annual Careers Fair opens in Ras Al Khaimah

  • United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, December 20 - 2005 at 12:18
  • PRESS RELEASE

The 5th annual Careers Fair, organized by Tanmia Ras Al Khaimah in coordination with Ras Al Khaimah Colleges, opened today (Tuesday, 20 December, 2005) at the Ras Al Khaimah Exhibition Center, attracting a large number of UAE National jobseekers.

The two-day fair gives National jobseekers an opportunity to interact with representatives from the private sector, including trade, banking and insurance enterprises.

The opening day of the career fair is dedicated to women jobseekers, while the second and final day is exclusively for men. The fair serves as an ideal platform for jobseekers to learn various aspects of business practices within the private sector and to explore employment opportunities that match their requirements and skills.

Ali Yousouf bin Salman, Tanmia Office Manager, Ras Al Khaimah said, "There has been a steady increase in the number of UAE Nationals employed in the private sector, and career fairs like these encourage more Nationals to seek jobs in this arena."

"Job seekers can gain valuable insights into the work environment in banks, insurance and trading companies by interacting directly with key personnel from the private sector. The fair aims to persuade UAE Nationals, who may be apprehensive about working in this sector that it can, indeed, lead to a highly rewarding career path," added bin Salman.

The main aim of the event was to provide students with information about different companies, institutions and corporations. They were given the opportunity to meet people from a wide range of companies and corporations related to their respective programmes.

Tanmia, among other companies, organised workshops and presentations where employers talked about career opportunities in their institutions and their expectations and requirements from applicants. Employers also explained their company policies and recruitment practices to the jobseekers, and conducted job interviews and tests in order to fill urgent vacancies.

Tanmia regularly conducts programmes to familiarise UAE Nationals about the qualifications, training and attitude required to adapt to the modern labour market needs of the UAE. These events provide a specialised mechanism to streamline communication between the employers and Tanmia to make the best possible jobs available to UAE Nationals, thus contributing towards Emiratisation.

"We recognise the importance of recruiting UAE Nationals for private sector jobs whenever possible. A free market economy like the UAE's requires highly qualified, skilled manpower, especially in banking and insurance," added bin Salman.

"Tanmia has a comprehensive database of national job-seekers and fully trained candidates with specialised skills that we can put forward for all types of jobs. We urge employers to work in close partnership with Tanmia and make use of our free recruitment services," concluded bin Salman.
