  • PRESS RELEASE

Intel today announced that it has just completed its fall 2005 Intel Channel Conferences for resellers and system integrators in the region.

Under the theme of "Change Your World", the conferences faced some 3000 channel members in the MENA region and focused on helping system integrators and resellers to spur innovation in their business and work ahead of changes in their environment.

"More and more, businesses are evolving away from one size PC fits all to a model of usage-oriented computing. This trend is what's behind Intel's shift to platforms. We're focusing on helping define the needs of the end users and then the products that will open new avenues of revenue growth for channel members,"

said Maan Ahmadie, Intel channel manager in the Middle East Turkey and Africa region.

The conferences, which visited Sanaa, Muscat, Doha, Manama, Kuwait, Amman, Beirut, Khobar, Riyadh, Jeddah, Alexandria, Cairo, Casablanca, Algiers, Abu Dhabi, Tunis and Dubai, also focused on informing and training systems integrators on Intel's latest mobility and server platforms, as well as updating them on the technology roadmap for 2006. In Dubai, the conference was also followed by a technical training session where 50 channel members were trained to support the 2006 platform roadmap as part of Intel's channel enablement programs.

Intel's yearly channel conferences are part of the company's ongoing drive to infiltrate into more cities in the region and to help the channel ensure that remote areas have access to the latest technologies.

"Intel will continue to seek the help of our channel members to identify new platforms and new markets to grow the business and to bridge the gap between technology and the next billion users. It is crucial that we work together to figure out how to bring computing to the rest of the world. At Intel we believe that tailoring products for the needs of these markets is the key to driving the next wave of emerging markets growth. It is for that reason we formed an organization inside the company called Channel Platforms Group, which is chartered with understanding, defining and then delivering to the needs of emerging markets customers," added Ahmadie.
