Among the two other customer groups, HSBC was ranked number four for banks overall, up from number eight last year, and number four for investors overall, up from number seven in 2004.
Andrew Brown, head of FX at HSBC in London, said: 'Traditionally, we have had a very strong presence in corporate land, so we continue to devote a lot of resources to that because it's the central theme of our business. However, we are really looking to develop the depth of relationship across client tiers, and these awards are a tribute to our progress across all customer groups in the last year.'
In all, HSBC collected 69 top five rankings, 21 of which were number one.
