CETME Bahrain 2006 will be held under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Majeed Bin Ali Al Nuaimi, Minister of Education at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre (BIEC).

CETME 2006, the first of its kind exhibition in Bahrain is expected to boost the kingdom's aspiration to become the educational hub of the region and establish it as a platform for educational services, endorsing various institutes from Bahrain, the region and the world. This unique exhibition will target prospective students preparing for higher education as well as working adults and professionals looking to make a difference.

One of Bahrain's most renowned private institutes who will be prominently presented at CETME 2006 is Al Ahlia University; the first private university licensed by the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain under the Cabinet decision which dated 25th March 2001.

It is an independent university which is autonomously chartered and which is funded and managed by the private sector. The founders have articulated their vision of a distinctive institution of higher education to ensure that science and technology on the one hand and humanities and social sciences on the other take their rightful place in the building and advancement of our society.

Al Ahlia University President, Professor Abdulla Al Hawaj has a vision to aspire the institute to create a centre of research and learning which naturally links up with the economic, cultural, scientific and industrial sectors of society in a productive co-operation where quality of assurance is the top priority for the university.

Mr. Hawaj stated that "in order for the knowledge in our youth to prevail, higher education must be driven by both the private and public sector, but what is most important is that we have to be transparent with proper rules and regulations in place. With the support from the Ministry of Education, Bahrain has the capabilities to be the regional centre for education and with the assistance of CETME, this exhibition could prove to be the first of many to come."

At the moment, full and partial scholarships from the university are given out to students through the Ministry of Education and the numbers are gradually increasing to cater to those students with excellent track records.

This event will serve as a channel to collect information on education, careers and training opportunities. Undoubtedly the premier event of its kind, CETME 2006 will bring together numerous educational and business organisations under one roof. With increasing regional awareness and significance of education as well as career we owe a show like CETME 2006 to the people of Bahrain, the GCC and Middle East.
