Markaz sponsors CFA program

Ms. Rasha A. Al-Hamad, Vice President for Human Resources Development at Kuwait Financial Centre - Markaz, announced that Markaz is sponsoring the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program in collaboration with IFA-Lebanon (Institute for Financial Analysts) for the second consecutive year.

"We are very proud to embark on this important role of promoting the Chartered Financial Analyst's designation; globally recognized as the definite standard for measuring competence and integrity in the fields of portfolio management and analysis,"
Ms. Al-Hamad said.

"As part of raising the educational benchmarks for investment professionals, Markaz in collaboration with IFA is offering the interested aspirants a Comprehensive CFA Review Course covering all required material for the CFA curriculum/body of knowledge as set by the CFA institute and aimed at preparing candidates to pass the CFA level I exam. Based on our experience of last year the new program is in two parts; a Pre-CFA module covering Quantative Analysis, Economics, Financial Statement Analysis and Derivatives for 10 days and a CFA Review Program of 26 instruction days followed by two mock exams providing a total of 162 hours of learning the professional skills required in asset valuation or portfolio management and enhancing their value in the competitive global market of investment professionals," she added.

The CFA Institute is a global membership organization that leads the investment industry by setting the highest standards of ethics and professional excellence and vigorously advocating fair and transparent capital markets. The CFA Institute provides membership services to more than 70,000 finance professionals in 115 countries, and may be best known for its CFA program. The CFA program is a graduate-level, self-study curriculum and series of examinations that test candidates around the world in ethical and professional standards, asset valuation, financial statement analysis, quantitative methods, economics and portfolio management.

Ms. Al-Hamad added, "Markaz strives to implement the principles employed by international businesses addressing subjects that include macroeconomics, international economics, financial statements analysis, quantitative analysis, corporate finance, equity investments, ethics, derivatives, portfolio management, along with markets and instruments."
