Hewlett Packard has signed a new agreement with Aptec appointing it as an IPG distributor for the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman and Yemen.

HP's IPG business unit includes a wide range of printing and imaging products including inkjet, laser and multi function printers as well as scanners, plotters and digital cameras.

"Aptec's IPG Team will focus on the Commercial and Corporate Sector, since Aptec carries a wide range of HP products and fulfills major government projects through its partners across the region. We will focus more on the high end line of HP IPG products," said Khitam Al Hindi - Business Unit Manager - HP at Aptec Gulf.

APTEC has been for many years a strategic partner for HP within this region. Enhancing its existing contract with HP Middle East to act as a Logistic Service Partner (LSP) and Channel Development Partner (CDP) on Imaging and Printing Group (IPG) hardware solutions makes business sense at this point in time. With 24 per cent growth that HP has achieved in the first half of 2005 across its Commercial Imaging and Printing Group, I look forward to APTEC's contribution to further increasing our in-country reach and coverage. Said "Sami Dajani - HP PBM -Middle East.

"Aptec is offering a One Stop Shop for HP products to its customers, which will further drive the growth and business of its HP line. HP's consumer line will be offered through Aptec Strategic Retail partners and with Aptec Mobile's Retail stores, providing a complete mobile print solution to this market," added Khitam Al Hindi.

"Aptec has an broad customer database and outstanding customer reach throughout the UAE and GCC. Our target for the year 2006 is to further advance it and maintain leadership in this area. HP's IPG product line offers plenty of opportunities to us," said Mario M. Veljovic - Manager Sales & Marketing at Aptec Gulf.

Aptec CEO, Dr Ali Baghdadi, commented on the agreement by saying " We are delighted to extend our strategic partnership with HP and we believe that by adding our value added services and support to IPG products, we will be opening new opportunities to the channel and extending HP's reach into this fast growing market".
