Setting youngsters on an enterprising course

The Young Entrepreneurs Souq will be held once again this DSF in an effort to motivate and encourage University students to venture into the business world. The competition will be held for the second year from February 1 to February 3 under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Est. for Young Business Leaders.

This competition, being organised by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Est. for Young Business Leaders in collaboration with the Dubai Shopping Festival Office, is aimed at creating a bevy of lateral thinking and successful generation among the young University students who would prove to be model leaders of the future.

Such a project is also expected to inspire students and young people, encouraging them to chart out their own business projects and experience the real business atmosphere by participating in the 'Young Entrepreneurs Souq' at the Reef Mall from 10am to 10pm during its three days run in February.

The Young Entrepreneurs Souq will be one of the chief attractions during DSF where visitors to the mall will be able to witness the competence of young people in managing their own businesses and providing the public with a range of products in a competitive atmosphere.

This competition, which proved to be a huge success with a large number of youngsters participating last year, provides an excellent platform for men and women from any nationality to set up their own stands and to sell their products in a competitive retail environment. The youngsters thus get a chance to showcase their potential skills and implement their own ideas of business in the future.

The last date for sending in entries for the Young Entrepreneurs Souq to the DSF Office is January 2 and winners of the competition will receive awards from HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Minister of Defence at a gala awards ceremony in April, 2006.
