- Kuwait: Tuesday, December 27 - 2005 at 15:08
- PRESS RELEASE
MTC - Kuwait, the mobile telecommunication leader in the market, proves once again to the Kuwaiti community its leadership and innovation by demonstrating Kuwait's first Video Call.
Setting the stage for a new era of advanced communications, Barrak Al Sabeeh, General Manager, MTC - Kuwait, placed the inaugural call to Dr. Marwan Al Ahmadi, Chief Operating Officer, MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain) from its corporate headquarters in Kuwait, demonstrating the first Video Call between the two countries. This innovative "First" in Kuwait reaffirms MTC's position as the undisputed market leader in providing its customers with the latest technology in mobile telecommunications.
"We are proud to be the first to introduce this innovative dimension to our valued customers in Kuwait and throughout the region," commented Al Sabeeh. He added, "This is yet another major milestone for us and a remarkable achievement that crowns our efforts of superior service and innovative products."
Video Calling marks the start of a new-age of services designed to give MTC customers faster data access and an enhanced experience; paving the way for more new developments. "We hope that our customers will enjoy this service as it combines two senses on a phone call; hearing and seeing," commented Al-Sabeeh.
Explaining the process, Al Sabeeh stated that there is no need to change SIM cards or change mobile settings, and most devices with dual cameras and Video Calling facilities support this new feature.
"This massive accomplishment in deploying MTC Video Call enabled network, once launched, would be the first significant step towards revolutionising the way our customers use their mobile phones - allowing them to go beyond just voice to include video as well," he concluded.
MTC - Kuwait also announced that the public are able to see live demonstrations of the Video Call in all MTC Branches and at a dedicated booth in Marina Mall.
