- PRESS RELEASE
Three Dubai-based senior regional managers of Sun Microsystems Middle East & North Africa (MENA) are taking a 'Faith, Hope and Charity' approach to the 42 kilometers of the Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon on Friday, January 6, 2006.
Carlson; Craig Vintcent, Sun's Regional Manager, Client Solutions; and Alex Zaphiropoulos, Sun's Regional Manager Sales Operations have all been in strict training over many weeks to prepare themselves for the unique challenges of participating in such a prestigious international event.
Zaphiropoulos, a Greek national and marathon history buff, commented, "We are all fortunate to live and work in a place like Dubai so taking part in the Dubai Marathon gives us an opportunity to do something for others".
Craig Vintcent, from South Africa, is no stranger to running long distances either as a veteran of a number of "Ultra Marathons," which are a distance of some 53kms. Vintcent has previously run from coast to coast in his home country.
