EastNets commended by Dubai Police

EastNets, a leader in Payment and Security Solutions, was awarded a certification of appreciation by Dubai Police at a gala dinner held by the authority to honor its partners in Dubai recently.

EastNets had implemented a secure and customized solution that will allow Dubai Police to issue secure cards for driving license and vehicle registration.

EastNets has used Bitaqat-e, a highly secure, fully parameterized card management and issuing system for Dubai Police. Nearly 1 million cards are expected to be issued annually using the system which has been implemented in over fifty stations under Dubai Police.

Hazem Mulhim CEO, EastNets, says, "Cards for driving licences and vehicle registrations required the most advanced technology in order to protect against fraud. Bitaqat-e solution has been developed to provide card technology to organizations that has critical services remits, such as Dubai Police, Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department and financial institutions. The technology is not only tamper-proof but also contains all essential information through highly secure components that is embedded in each card enabling data portability, security and ease of use."

A spokesperson from Dubai Police said, "Dubai police is committed to becoming recognized leaders in technology implementation in the region. Electronic architecture for service delivery is becoming a key tenet of public security and safety in today's fast-paced world. We constantly evaluate new technology to keep pace with global developments and provide efficient and secure services. Bitaqat-e solution has delivered several key benefits that were earlier not available to us. The system implemented by EastNets will help us access and keep tab of vital information at faster speed as well as help us in preventing frauds and misuse."

Among the major project implemented by EastNets is the ID Personalisation System for DNRD. EastNets has also been involved with other major governmental entities such Ministry of Interior, Jordan for issuing ID cards for and health card issuance for Jordanian Ministry of Health.
