The DQG is dedicated to the development of quality awareness among its members and the UAE community as a whole, whereas the mission of the DERC is to raise awareness of organizational ethics, corporate responsibility and standards of good governance, and empower private and public sector organizations to develop and comply with high standards of organizational integrity. The congruence of the two organizations' missions is, thus, manifested by their shared commitment to enhanced organizational performance.

This shared commitment to excellence prompted DERC and DQG to explore avenues of collaboration with one another with a view to leveraging their respective activities in the pursuit of common objectives. The MoU forges a partnership aimed at:

1. Sharing knowledge and making resources available to their respective stakeholders;

2. Streamlining outreach efforts to maximize the benefits to their respective audiences;

3. Conducting joint programs and activities that highlight the alignment of the quality and organizational integrity agendas.

4. Providing joint value added training and capacity building services

The MoU was signed on behalf of the DQG by Mr. Abdul Qader Obaid, Chairman of the DQG, and on behalf of DERC by Mr. Alex Zalami, the Center's Executive Director.

Commenting on the partnership Mr. Zalami said: "Both organizations are committed to developing the business community here in Dubai and throughout the region. I believe that this is a great step for both parties and that the MoU will strengthen the resolve of each organization to work together to realize their common goals in encouraging business to improve the quality and integrity of its performance."

Supporting this view DQG's Chairman, Mr. Obaid added: "Ultimately both organizations recognize that we are working towards various elements of a shared vision. We have agreed to work collaboratively to support the Emirate of Dubai in strengthening its position as the region's gateway for global commerce by offering its global business partners an environment of international quality, transparency, and rule of law."
