- PRESS RELEASE
Ajman University of Science and Technology Network's Faculty of Engineering urges the use of solar energy as an alternative source of power.
Dr Fahar Hayatti, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, AUST said, "Solar energy should soon replace the traditional power and energy people use today."
"Solar energy is characterized by its cleanness and consistency because it is derived from the sun, " added Dr Fahar. "More research is needed to understand the economic and environmental viability of using solar energy today and in the future."
John One, of Solar S.A Systems, displayed how solar energy can be used in heating, while Allan of German-EnviTek showed how solar energy can be used in water desalination.
In his research paper, "Solar Energy Usage In Warming", Dr Ali Arbawi, of the Faculty of Engineering at AUST Network, said, "Solar energy can be exploited to produce the required energy in warming residential villas and flats, and it can be used in cooling in huge buildings as well. This technology can be embedded in the architectural design of the building.
For example, a building's terrace can be used as a platform for setting up the solar energy discs."
