- PRESS RELEASE
ALDAR Properties PJSC has signed a contract with award-winning National Central Cooling Co. PJSC -Tabreed - to provide district cooling services for all its upcoming and future projects in Abu Dhabi.
"Abu Dhabi is witnessing a construction boom and the developments, which are essentially creating cities of the future, make it mandatory to provide energy efficient and environmentally-friendly technologies," said Christopher Sims, CEO, ALDAR Properties.
"Tabreed is the UAE's leading district cooling supplier and they are able to meet our exacting specifications to provide a highly reliable, efficient and hassle free district cooling service resulting in a mutually beneficial relationship for both companies."
ALDAR's Al Maamoura Tower, a state-of-the-art office building in the Al Muroor district, requiring 1816 Tons of Refrigeration (TR) will be the first development to be fully cooled by Tabreed. This development will house Mubadala offices and the impressive Environmental Research and Wildlife Development Agency (ERWDA) library along with display areas, a high tech business and conference centre, a 150-seat auditorium, a restaurant, a day care centre and a gymnasium.
Tabreed's CEO, Dany Safi said: "ALDAR is one of UAE's prominent property developers and adding them to our client roster is not only a matter of great pride but ensures we will remain miles ahead of any competition."
District cooling is now widely used throughout the UAE and has been used around the world since it was invented in the late 1800's, piping chilled water from a centralised plant to a range of residential, commercial and government buildings.
Landlords are attracted to the maintenance-free, economic and environmentally friendly cooling benefits of the technology, while tenants enjoy reduced ambient noise and better temperature control in their homes, making it the perfect solution for all cooling requirements.
