Ajman Sewerage Company unveils new logo

  • United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, July 23 - 2002 at 16:36
  • PRESS RELEASE

The recently created Ajman Sewerage (Private) Company Ltd. has unveiled its new logo and corporate identity.

The company is implementing a Dhs 515 million sewerage treatment system for the Emirate of Ajman.

A partnership between the Government of Ajman and two world leaders in the wastewater business - Thames Water and Black & Veatch - has created the new concession company that was established by the announcement of the first ever Sewer Law for Ajman in May 2002.

The new logo, designed by UAE-based agency Bates PanGulf, blends the desert heritage of Ajman with a wave motif to reinforce both the essence of the project and coastal location of Ajman. The green and blue colours selected for the logo reflect the significant environmental benefits the project will bring to the people of Ajman.

Ajman Sewerage Company General Manager Kelvin Moon said: "We have created a simple but effective image for the new company that local residents in Ajman can identify with. As the project continues to grow over the coming years it will become a familiar symbol for one of the biggest ever construction projects created for the Emirate of Ajman and its people."

The new identity will be applied to all company communication materials and construction notice boards over the coming weeks and months.

"The first use for the logo has been on the registration application form that is now being distributed to property owners in Ajman to allow them to register and benefit from the new modern sewerage system."

"This is part of the biggest census and registration exercise ever undertaken in Ajman where we are seeking to identify the ownership of every building in the Emirate," added Mr Moon.

Under the regulations of the Sewer Law recently enacted by His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuami, The Ruler of Ajman, every property owner must register their property through submitting a registration form to the Ajman Sewerage (Private) Company Limited and later pay a compulsory connection fee.

The sewerage modernisation programme will involve the building a state of the art sewage treatment plan in Ajman, more than 20 individual pumping stations and laying over 250km of pipelines to connect the properties to the system. It will take an estimated four years to complete the project and the treatment plant is expected to open in 2005.

Treated water from the plant will be used for irrigation and other commercial and environmental purposes. The massive project is also expected to give a major economic boost to the Emirate and enhance the prosperity and business fortunes of the region in the months and years ahead.
