The World Hawks participate in the 'Al Ain Aerobatic Show 2006'

One of the milestones of the next round, which will start on the second day of Al Adha Holiday and will go on for five days (11 - 15 January 2006), will be the participation of the 53-year-old Lithuanian pilot Jurgis Kairys, Freestyle World Champion several times, who also won 2nd place in solo aerobatics at the FAI 21st World Grand Prix, held in Al Ain City in January 2005.

Jurgis' experiences and skills exceed aerobatics to the technical field as well. He is a test pilot and aeronautical engineer and took part in the design and construction of the Sukhoi 26, 29 and 31 aerobatic aircraft. He has also manufactured his own aerobatic aircraft called "Juka", which he flew for the first time in competition in May 2002 at the FAI World Grand Prix in Brno, Czech Republic.

Jurgis has invented several aerobatic manoeuvres including the "Kairys Wheel", a very small loop and the Cobra for propeller aircraft and has the talent to hover his aircraft like a helicopter. He won the Freestyle World Aerobatic Champion title in 1990 and 1994. He also flies close formation with his team of 3, the Air Bandits.

Jurgis' aerobatic skills and displays, awaited by thousands of the show visitors, are supported with others on the ground, as he is very interested in and very good at driving racing cars, which makes him a true 'Champion in the Air and on the Ground as well'.
