The decision by the BUiD Executive Council to grant such an unprecedented number of scholarships further demonstrates the investment BUiD is continuing to make in the region's future.
"The standard of research being taught and undertaken at BUiD is second-to-none and by creating 20 new scholarships this will ensure that students from all backgrounds will have the opportunity to study at the university. The pioneering research BUiD carries out is already helping drive the UAE's economy, and it will be tremendous to see more students from different backgrounds becoming involved,"
said David Lock, Registrar and Acting CEO, BUiD.
The scholarships will contribute to 50 percent of fees on any BUiD course, and are awarded to applicants who have demonstrated above average achievement in their previous academic study, and who would otherwise not be able to meet the full cost of tuition.
BUiD also has several established partnerships with leading organisations in the UAE which have funded scholarships at the university. These include Emirates Group, DUCAB, Atkins, Hyder Consulting and Dubai Duty Free.
As well as Masters Programmes which focus on many of the key UAE industries of IT, construction and project management, BUiD's 'continuing professional development courses' have assisted companies of all sizes by allowing students to combine their studies with their career.
Prospective students can also find out more about BUiD, and the programmes on offer, at its Knowledge Village campus in Dubai every weekday from Saturday to Thursday, 09:00 - 17:00 hours.
