DTCM present best co-participant award to Net Tours

The Net Group of companies was awarded the Best Co-participant Workshop Presentation award by the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) for its initiative at the recently-concluded series of road shows in France, Belgium and The Netherlands.

The award was presented at a ceremony held at the DTCM Head Office. Mr. Ali Abu Monassar, Vice-Chairman of the Net Group, received the award from DTCM Manager Overseas Promotions, Mr. Khalifa Ali Buamaim.

The department had teamed up with 16 tour operators and hotels for the France, Belgium and Netherlands road shows.

The three road shows were part of the DTCM's overall promotional campaign to position Dubai as a leading leisure destination in the European market.

Dubai has been a popular leisure and shopping destination for French holidaymakers. In 2005 there were 77 tour operators featuring Dubai. Twelve new French tour operators are featuring Dubai in 2005/2006 compared to winter 2004/2005.

The total number of French tourists to Dubai increased by 20 per cent in 2004 starting from 6,568,227 in 2003. An estimated 100,000 French guests are expected in 2006.
