Heralded as a new concept for staff accommodation, ENOC has developed plans for two sites in Dubai that are above the market standard requirement for staff accommodation.
Speaking at the groundbreaking, Sultan said:
"As the leading oil company in Dubai, we are proud to take the lead by providing our loyal employees with high quality accommodation that is above industry standards."
Leading consultants were brought in by ENOC Real Estate to design the high quality residential areas for ENOC's Retail Staff. Located in Al Quoz and in Al Muhaisinah, the sites will feature a range of facilities including recreation areas for sporting and relaxation, dining and prayer rooms, first aid stations, pantries, training centres and selected retail outlets.
"We have selected leading consultants to design the residential areas, which will be created with the optimum comfort of our employees in mind, and wherever possible environmentally sound procedures have been taken into consideration with the planning," added Sultan.
"To achieve this, a lot of effort is being put into detailed design with the help of Group Engineering & Construction department," added Ismail Baqer, General Manager, ENOC Real Estate L.L.C. "Layouts of floors have been selected carefully, keeping in mind convenience of staff as well as safety and ergonomic standards. Central air-conditioning with room-wise fan coil units will be provided for both complexes, for maximum comfort levels coupled with energy efficiency and ease of maintenance."
Baqer further added that both sites will feature separate male and female blocks, and all rooms will be designed for a maximum number of four people per room for optimum comfort. In addition, closed circuit TV systems and access controlled entry will be installed to ensure the security of all employees, and regular fire drills are planned for the safety of all residents.
Due for completion in November 2006, the sites will house approximately 2,300 employees, with beds for 1,232 at Al Quoz and 1,088 at Al Muhaisinah. Transport to and from their employment will also be supplied to all residents to ensure.
In line with the Group's overall policy of Energy Conservation, attention has been paid during the design stage to making the buildings energy efficient. This comprises recycling water, use of high efficiency air-conditioning chillers and energy efficient lighting fixtures. The project has been financed by Mashreqbank, and is set to be followed by further projects from ENOC Real Estate L.L.C.
