Welcare opens outpatient surgery and health clinic in 'New Dubai'

Some time back Welcare World Health Systems had launched its facility in Knowledge Village. This is a full service Ambulatory Care Center harboring Outpatient Clinics, Emergency Services, Day Care Surgery, Health Management Programs, Diagnostic Services among others.

The state-of-the-art, walk-in Welcare Ambulatory Care Center, open from 8am to 11pm six days a week, has more than 24 internationally accredited doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals staffing more than two dozen outpatient and specialty clinics, an urgent care center, an intensive care unit and ambulance and surgical services, among many others.

"This Ambulatory Care Center represents a new generation in healthcare in the UAE, which is well established in the United States and fairly popular in the UK and parts of the European Union, but not hitherto known or used in this region. What is known is the entity called "Minor Surgery", which generally covers usual procedures like Suturing of wounds, Incision and Drainage of abscesses, Dressing of wounds etc. This, really, is not what comes under "Day Care Surgery", said Dr. Sumedha Sahni, Director of Quality Assurance and Head of Satellite Centers, Welcare World Health Systems.

"What makes this Center so special is that it offers convenient walk in/walk out services covering a wide range of diagnostic and treatment procedures, all under one roof, in an atmosphere of personalized care,"

Sahni continued. Thus, the Center is a unique mix of Primary level healthcare and the surgical expertise generally restricted to larger hospital settings.

The Center is centrally located for easy access from Umm Suqeim, Dubai Marina, Emirates Hills, Jebel Ali and the TECOM free zones and is the only facility of its kind within a 15km radius.

"As the city has grown southwards toward Jebel Ali, the need for full-service medical care in the area has grown as well. Welcare is committed to helping, serve the healthcare needs of these new residential and office populations through this neighbourhood facility, particularly important given the uncertainties about traffic throughout the city and the urgent medical needs that often bring people to the doctor."

Among the many special clinics are Antenatal, Bone & Joint, Diabetes, Headache & Nerve, Obesity and Diet, Sports Medicine, Traveler's and Well Baby Clinics.

The Center's services are supported by a Cardiac Investigating Station, a Clinical Laboratory, Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation and Imaging & Ultrasound. There is also an Internal Pharmacy.

To complement the Center and to those requiring hospital based secondary or tertiary level services, whenever necessary, a patient can be transferred to the World-class Welcare Hospital in Garhoud.
