After gaining approval from the Higher Education Council, the university will be offering its students the opportunity to major in the field of Management Information Systems (MIS).

This particular major is considered an important addition to the majors offered by the university. Given that PSUT is the only university in the Kingdom and the region at large that specializes Information and Communication Technology, this new major comes as a means to ensure that the university's graduates are equipped with both the tools needed to satisfy the demands of the modern local market, and the ability to use the latest technology and communication systems in their conducting of business.

President of PSUT, Professor Hisham Ghassib stated, "The University aims to continue updating its academic offerings and especially those related to the fields of Information and Communication Technology. In this modern day and age, our local and regional markets are constantly demanding human capacities well educated and informed in these disciplines".

Dr Arafat Awjan, Dean of the King Hussein School for Information Technology, added that this new major is one that is highly demanded in the modern business market and especially in the field of E-Business.

"The new MIS major helps students to come in contact with the most updated methods of management. It increases both their theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of technology by combining courses in Business and Computer Science within one academic plan. The courses offered in PSUT's MIS program aim to create a balance between the simple concepts of management and the most complex theories of IT," Dr. Awajan said.
