UAE study of thalassemia

The Al Wasl Hospital's Thalassemia Centre is to lead a detailed study of this genetic blood disorder among UAE nationals, to replace a random study made in 2002, reported Gulf News. Thalassemia is a potentially life-threatening disorder characterised by the breakdown of heamoglobin in the blood.
