Dr. Saeed Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director General of EIDA, met with H.E. Ahmad Kajour, Assistant Under Secretary, Planning Affairs, Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, Dr. Ali Al Mazrouie, Director of Preventive Medicine Department at the General Authority of Health services, Dr. Zainab Khazaal from Ministry of Health and Dr. Adnan Julfar from Health and Medical Services Department in Dubai.

"The meeting we had is part of EIDA's strategy that aims at being in constant communication with different departments and authorities in the country. This move will further enhance coordination and allow us to exchange experiences," said Dr. Al Dhaheri.

"A proposal to register unskilled workers and to issue them the ID card as they appear for their medical test in the country, is being processed currently," he added.

Al Dhaheri further noted that the above process will simplify data entry as well as helping to save time and effort in the registration process. The ministry of Labor revealed that approximately 500,000 unskilled workers are registered at the Ministry.

Dr. Dhaheri said that another proposal on unifying the payment of all government fees at one place, such as fees for a health certificate, visa, ID Card and others, is being processed. The proposal is expected to be converted into a work plan and implemented by the end of this year.
