The deal is one of four transactions which Oasis Leasing announced today and which will add long term value to the company and its shareholders.
The others include the acquisition of a Boeing 737-500, in partnership with Compass Capital with attached finance lease. The aircraft is operated by Continental Airlines. The remaining deals involve the leasing of two A320s to Spain's LTE and the sale of two EMB-120RT turboprop aircraft in partnership with Compass Capital.
"These transactions are tangible evidence of the upward swing in the leasing business cycle as lease rates increase and aircraft values rise",
said Gordon Dixon, CEO Oasis Leasing.
"In particular the A320's, which were coming to the end of their lease periods early this year, have been remarketed at significantly higher lease rates. Meanwhile, we will realise a good profit from the sale of the two Embraer aircraft."
Oasis Leasing has 20 aircraft on long term lease to major airlines around the world, including Emirates, Gulf Air, Wind Jet, Onur Air, Air One, Futura, Garuda Indonesia, MAS, Air New Zealand, Air Canada and Continental Airlines. In 2005 it formed a joint venture, with Tabreed and Abu Dhabi Investment Company (ADIC), which owns two district cooling plants in Abu Dhabi.
