"Charity begins at home, hence ENOC and EIB have made an initial donation of AED 25,000 each to the fund," said Hussain Sultan, ENOC Chief Executive and Board Member.
An outstanding AED 58,310 was collected from customers who purchased donation coupons worth AED 10 from ENOC/EPPCO service stations and EIB branches across the UAE.
"As a concerned corporate citizen, the ENOC Group believes it has a wider role - to make a positive difference to the lives of all our people and every section of the community. The holy month of Ramadan is a time of retrospection, prayer and charity. I am happy that our customers have donated generously to put a smile back on the faces of our less fortunate countrymen," Sultan added.
Mr. Faisal Aqil General Manager, Retail Banking, EIB said: "
"As a strong supporter of community activities, Emirates Islamic bank is proud to partner with the ENOC Group. This is the first time we have participated in a charity drive of this kind and like many initiatives that we have endorsed, we hope it will grow next year and beyond."
The 'Put a smile on someone's face' fundraiser was supported by advertisements in print, on-air through radio updates on Al Rabea FM and online to generate awareness and drive customers to participate in the nationwide campaign.
