Dubai based Jumeirah has taken over the management of Essex House, the 515-room New York hotel bought by the Dubai Government for $500m last September. CEO Gerald Lawless told Gulf News that Jumeirah plans four to five hotels in North America as part of an expansion into a 40-hotel chain over the next four years.
