  • PRESS RELEASE

Executive Flight Services, (EFS) a special division of the Department of Civil Aviation, Dubai, Operations division, has witnessed phenomenal growth over the last year.

Total flights handled during 2005 registered at 6216 compared to 3940 during last year. It is expected that in the year 2006, EFS will handle 8390 flights. In the month of May 2005 alone, EFS witness a 126% increase in flight movements as compared to last year.

HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Department of Civil Aviation, Dubai and Chairman of Emirates Group, commented: "Dubai has grown tremendously as a business and a leisure hub. Today is it the busiest aviation hub in the region and forecast predicts further growth. Executive Flight Services has shown tremendous growth as we are one of the very few in the region offering such specialized service. In the year 2006 we expect EFS to have around 35% increases in its growth as compared to 2005. This is mainly because not only do we provide a very high standard of service, but also because we host major events like Dubai Airshow."

Mr Mohammad Ahli, Director Operations, DCA, commented: "As Dubai's profile as a leading business and top leisure destination increases each year, more and more organisations are looking towards executive jet operations to solve the transportation problems of high profile passengers. Regular users of these services include politicians, diplomats, leading figures for the worlds of sport, entertainment, fashion, the media, leading international business personalities and royalty. We stress on providing a very high standard of service. In fact the demand of EFS has been such that we have received enquiries, specially from the GCC countries, on whether we provide business jets on lease."

The Executive Flight Services is a highly specialised division, which provides dedicated facilities at the airport for VIPs and CIPs (commercially important persons) travelling on private flights. The Executive Flight Services team swings into action as soon as an executive jet touches down at the airport and only ends once the flight has departed.

The passenger services include providing VIP lounge facilities with an exclusive check in area for passengers, baggage handling, special crew briefing and rest rooms, limousine pick-ups, visa arrangements, hotel accommodation, a helicopter onward transfer to one of the city's top hotels and even organising a round of golf. The airport and aircraft services provided by the Executive Flight Services includes aircraft maintenance support, landing and over-flight permission, providing updated weather forecast, assistance in flight planning, quick turnaround of aircraft, cargo handling, catering and security. All of the services are available 24 hours. EFS booking is also be available online.
