- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, January 18 - 2006 at 16:26
- PRESS RELEASE
Against the backdrop of the property and economic boom that has had a ripple effect on all sectors, the 31st Arab Health Exhibition and Congress 2006, will be held at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre.
According to John Hassett, Commercial Director, Exhibitions, "The phenomenal growth of the show reflects the importance of Arab Health 2006 in bringing world class healthcare to the Middle East. Arab Health is also at the forefront of education in providing internationally accredited healthcare conferences here in the Middle East. The exhibition offers unparalleled opportunities for regional and international management and medical professionals, CEOs and decision makers to gather new information, exchange ideas, strike deals, announce new developments and update their skills.
One of the major highlights at Arab Health 2006 is the Leaders in Healthcare conference on January 22 that will see distinguished speakers such as the management guru Tom Peters, Professor Reinhardt, CEO and President of Siemens Medical Solutions, and Dr Delos M. Cosgrove, Chief Executive Officer and President of the Cleveland Clinic, USA, Dr. Thomas H. Lee, M.D., Harvard Medical School, U.S.A., and Prof. Frank Christ M.D., CEO Munich Medical International, Germany.
Other new conferences include the Middle East Obs-Gyne Conference, Middle East Spinal Surgery Symposium, Advances and Controversies in Hip and Knee Surgery and Interventional Radiology. These coupled with the regular offerings of conferences, such as the Middle East Imaging and Diagnostic Conference, Diabetes, Dentistry and surgical workshops, will ensure that this year's congress will be another groundbreaking event.
Arab Health 2006 has been granted 'Full Accreditation with Exemplary Compliance' by the Accreditation Review Committee of the American Academy of Continuing Medical Education. This status is attained by a few international conferences. The Arab Health Congress, which runs from January 22 to 25, is now recognised as the largest series of multi-track conferences in the world.
According to Dr. Andrew Nashashibi M.D., Interim-Chair, Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office (EMRO), Chair, International Senate Committee, American Academy of Continuing Medical Education (AACME), "This designation recognises Arab Health's commitment to the highest standards in continuing medical education programmes. The purpose of continuing medical education and of a CME programme is to act as a catalyst in assuring that physicians and other allied healthcare professionals are offered high-quality continuing medical education".
Receiving CME hours is becoming more and more important as health authorities within the Middle East are expecting doctors to attain a minimum number of credits as part of their professional responsibities.
Arab Health 2006 will occupy all of the 10 halls of the Dubai International Exhibition Centre. The event is supported by Dubai Healthcare City, the UAE Ministry of Health, Department of Health and Medical Services (DoHMS), as well as the General Authority for Health Services Abu Dhabi.
