SteelFab to open on January 22nd

The second edition of SteelFab, which is Middle East's exclusive and most established trade platform for manufacturers and distributors of machine tools, machinery, consumables and other items related to the steel working business, will open at Expo Centre Sharjah on January 22nd, 2006.

The three-day event will feature 212 brands and companies from 29 countries.

"SteelFab has already established itself as the Middle East's largest display of Steel, Fasteners, Accessories, Surface Preparation, Machinery and Tools, Welding and Cutting, Finishing and Testing equipment, and Coatings and Anti-Corrosion material,"

said Mr. Fasahat Ali Khan, Acting Director General, Expo Centre Sharjah.

"This year, SteelFab occupies a total exhibition area of 6,000 square metres. The gradual growth in the size of the event, both in terms of space and number of exhibitors, is a manifestation of the boom that the regional steel working industry is currently experiencing," he added.

Besides showcasing some of the most reputed brands in the steel working industry from Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, India, Iran, Italy, Japan, Korea, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan (ROC), Turkey, UAE, UK, Ukraine, USA, SteelFab '06 will feature 74 direct exhibitors from 17 countries. This includes a dedicated platform by India's Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC).

The EEPC pavilion will host seven Indian companies dealing in Welding Electrodes Expansion Joints, Flange Adapters, Tank Level Gauges, Switches, Controllers, Transmitters for liquid & solids, and Water Ingress Detection System for bulk carriers, Air Pollution Control systems, Acoustic cleaning Systems, Non-metallic Expansion Joints, Rubber Moulding Machine, Deep Drawing Press, Die Casting Machines, CNC Drilling Machines, Tube Bending Machines, Tube Mill machines and related equipments, Steel Tubes and Pipes, Welding consumables, and Engine Machining & Rebuilding Machines.

EEPC was set up in 1955 under the sponsorship of the Government of India's Ministry of Commerce for export promotion of engineering goods, projects and services from India.

Among other countries from which steel working companies are directly participating in the event are Belgium, China, Denmark, Egypt, France, Germany, Iran, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Taiwan, Turkey, Ukraine, UAE, UK, and USA.

A major highlight of SteelFab '06 will be the welding & cutting segment that will include exciting displays of welding, plasma cutting, welding automation and robotic welding from some of the leading brands across the globe. Welding consumables, electrodes and safety will also be featured prominently at the event.

In the steel machinery section, steel roll-forming machine, CNC machining centers, American CNC routers, automation & retrofits to upgrade existing machinery, surface preparation machinery, and displays covering shot blasting, blast rooms and airless & portable blasting solutions, will be of special interest to visitors from the regional steel working industry.

Given the focused profile, SteelFab will attract a large number of trade visitors especially fabrication yard managers, production managers, procurement managers, estimators, planning and design engineers from the Middle East and North Africa region.

The event is also expected to witness a sharp rise in the number of visitors from GCC, Iraq, Iran, the Indian sub-continent and the CIS countries.

SteelFab is organised by Expo Centre Sharjah with the support of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
