"Since its launch ten years ago, the brand has proved tremendously popular with the large Indian expatriate population in the UAE,"
says Ajoy Mathew, Divisional Manager, Aftron,
"Aftron products have found their way into a substantial number of homes in India, mainly as gifts from expatriates working here. This is particularly remarkable considering we do not market the brand directly in India. There is no doubt that a strong brand loyalty has been built up, with many households having a number of Aftron products."
The electronics market in India is one of the fastest growing in the world. Worth US$11.5 Billion in 2004, it's expected to reach US$40 Billion by 2010. There is a large and growing middle class of over 320 million people in India who are in a position to buy electronics goods. With the growing electronics market, after sales service is a very important element. Aftron initiative aims at bridging the gap for its range of products purchased by expatriates based in the UAE for their families who reside in the subcontinent.
He further added, "India is a very promising market and Aftron products appeal to that region because of its high quality and extremely competitive prices. Being a customer-oriented brand, we source our electronics from some of the best manufacturers in the world, and this is evident in the design and functionality of our products further complemented with best pricing."
Mathew added, "Our after-sales service is a vital element in our electronics package, and we are able to provide support throughout India. The service centre network is very comprehensive, stretching even into some of the smallest towns of India. These centres offer world-class after-sales support and product maintenance across the whole spectrum of our product range, from air conditioners and kitchen appliances to televisions and home entertainment systems."
While Aftron originally focussed on air-conditioning, white goods and kitchen appliances, it later expanded its range to include high quality consumer electronics, including the recently re-launched 42-inch Plasma TV. It sources its products from top manufacturers around the world, who tailor the goods to meet the specific requirements of the local market.
