DCCI discusses trade and economic ties with Hamburg

To enhance the joint economic cooperation between Dubai and Germany, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry received Sunday afternoon a delegation from Hamburg Chamber of Commerce.
During the meeting, ways of cementing the economic and trading ties, broadening trading activities between the UAE in general, and Dubai in particular, with Hamburg were discussed, as well as the investment opportunities in various commercial, industrial and tourism sectors.
Al-Mutaiwee welcomed the visiting delegation and spoke of Dubai's significance as an international commercial and economic center. It enjoys extensive connections with more than 165 countries, and is an attraction point for investors and businessmen from different parts of the world, thanks to the investment and trading atmosphere, non-taxation, freedom in transferring funds and the political, economic and social stability provided.
"Dubai enjoys solid economic and trading ties with a number of German cities including Frankfurt, Munich and Berlin and we hope that economic and trading relationships between Dubai and Hamburg will witness further developments at all levels, due to the features and qualities Dubai and Hamburg have in common, these would certainly play a key role in strengthening and broadening the bilateral relations between the two sides in all trading, economic, tourism, industrial and financial sectors," said Al-Mutaiwee.
"We, as Hamburg Chamber of Commerce look forward to ensuring further joint cooperation to develop and expand the economic, trading and tourist ties between the two sides, and we also look forward to establish an economic partnership between Dubai and Hamburg at all levels for the interest of the two friendly peoples. Dubai and Hamburg have in common features and qualities through encountering same challenges in terms of delivering high quality services to the business communities in both cities," said Dr. Karl-Joachim Dreyer, President of Hamburg Chamber of Commerce.
The Commercial Representative Office of Hamburg was inaugurated Sunday evening and attended by Abdurrahman Al-Mutaiwee, DCCI Director General, Sultan Lootah, Director of Business Promotion Department, Mr. Ole Von Beust , Prime Miniter and Mayor of Hamburg, Dr. Karl-Joachim Dreyer, President of Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, Professor Dr. Hans-Jorgen Schmidt, CEO of Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, Deputy Delegate of German Industry and Commerce, Director Dubai Office, and a number of German businessmen.
On his speech delivered on inauguration of the Hamburg Commercial Reprehensive Office in Dubai, Al-Mutaiwee indicated the key role this office may play in promoting investment and trading opportunities between Dubai and Hamburg. He also referred to the significance of holding an economic partnership between the two cities, and also the significance of direct flights between the two sides to further activate the trading movement on all levels.
