This was discussed recently in a meeting held in Abu Dhabi between the UAE Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (MLSA), the General Pension and Social Security Authority (GPSSA), Abu Dhabi Retirement Pension and Benefits Fund, and Tanmia.

The meeting chaired by HE Dr. Khaled Al Khazraji, Undersecretary of the Ministry discussed the resolutions implementation with the presence of HE Ahmad Kajoor, Undersecretary for Planning in the Ministry, HE Sultan Al Gaith, GPSSA Director General, HE Rashid Al Hamli representing Abu Dhabi Retirement Pension and Benefits Fund, and Mrs. Fuddah Lootah acting for Tanmia.

Dr. Al Khazraji highlighted the resolution mechanism and the electronic systems adopted in order to facilitate the creation of a comprehensive database of UAE nationals and GCC employees working in the private sector.

The database at the MLSA, GPSSA, Abu Dhabi Retirement Pension and Benefits Fund and Tanmia will allow the Ministry and Tanmia to follow up the implementation of Emiratization and the Cabinet resolutions. It is worth mentioning that the cabinet determined earlier a yearly Emiratization percentage of 2% for the commercial sector, 4% for the banking sector and 5% for the insurance sector.

Al Khazraji stressed that these measures will ensure a stable relation between UAE nationals working in the private sector and employers. It will also guarantee employers' insurance rights at the end of their service. Furthermore, Al Khazraji highlighted the unique characteristics of the resolution in reducing the fees paid by employers who fulfill the Emiratization resolution in the private sector.

Al Khazraji discussed also the resolution no.1215 that stipulates registering GCC employees from the private sector in the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, following the decision of GGC officials during the 25th Gulf Summit.

"The two resolutions aim to guarantee the rights of UAE nationals and GCC employees working in the private sector, and to ensure they are covered by the insurance indemnity plan according to the GPSSA law implemented in the UAE and to the regulations of GCC Retirement and Social Security institutions," said Al Khazraji.

Sultan Al Ghaith praised the distinguished cooperation between UAE's ministries and government bodies and the continuous efforts and support from these organizations.

Al Ghaith said: "The UAE cabinet has agreed earlier on adding decree to the General Pensions and Social Security law which dictates the implementing mechanism insurance indemnity plan for the GCC nationals working outside their home countries and in one of the GCC countries."

The decree will be accredited by His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President.

Employers at the private sector can create the needed date for the labour contract and labour card either through the offices responsible of dealing with similar transaction or through subscribing on the website.
