DCCI honors MRM Business Award 2005 organizers

In appreciation to the efforts exerted in making the "Mohammed Bin Rashid Business Award 2005" a success, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry yesterday morning honored the steering committee members including directors, managers and staff, and all who contributed to making this innovative a success.
H.E. Abdurrahman Al-Mutaiwee, DCCI Director General on this occasion delivered a speech greeting the attendees and acknowledged all the efforts exerted, that made these awards a success, whose organizers expect to be an annual phenomenon and a motive to all organizations operating the UAE towards participation, which will push forward the wheel of trading development and economic growth in the UAE in general, and Dubai in particular.
"It's indeed heartening that the "Mohammed Bin Rashid Business Award2005" commenced and concluded successfully with a prestigious award ceremony where His Highness, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai and the UAE Defence Minister, who was then Crown Prince of Dubai, was very pleased with the painstaking efforts that made these awards a success," said Al-Mutaiwee.
"The success of the MRM Business Award 2005 was the result of several parties working in cooperation with one another, and let us seize this opportunity to forward our thanks and appreciation to the 45 companies who actually submitted their applications. Although, not all participants won, we can confidently say that they benefited from the process, as the award process gave them the opportunity to engage in self-analysis and systematically reflect on their performance," added Al-Mutaiwee.
Among other parties to whom Al-Mutaiwee expressed thanks and appreciation to was the Panel of Judges who had taken time off their busy schedules and done the assessment perfectly and professionally. Al-Mutaiwee invited the assessors to come again for this year's MRM Business Award process, which has in fact already begun in earnest. He motivated the winning organizations to use the MRM Business Award's emblem on their publications and documents for two years from only and expressed the Chamber's readiness to provide the winners with all types of support and consultations.
The participating organizations are nominated winners based on the performance factor rather than the excellence factor in running their businesses, depending on general and specific criteria.
The general criteria are: First, the strategic initiatives that involve environmental analysis, strategy formulation, performance planning and evaluation. Second criterion is leadership that involves setting direction, motivating people, performance management. Third criterion is quality that involves work processes, quality systems and customer satisfaction. Fourth criterion is corporate culture that involves belief systems, values and ethics, and fifth criterion is corporate social responsibility that involves commitment to contribute to nation and society.
As for the specific criteria, they are outputs that involve the cultural number or quantity of products or services produced by a firm, outcomes that involve the achievements derived from the outputs of products and services of a firm, and impact that involves the benefits accorded to society, nation and others.
