AUST Network participates in an international conference in Saudi Arabia

As part of its strategy to expand its international participation, Ajman University of Science and Technology AUST's Faculty of Pharmacy has recently participated in the 9th Conference of Arab Pharmacy Faculties held at Riyad in Saudi Arabia.

Dr Sameer Baloukh who represented the university in the conference said, " The Arab Pharmacy Faculties Conference is a great opportunity that bring all the Arab Faculties of Pharmacy together to discuss their concerns, achievements and strategies to develop and improve their performance."

"It is no doubt that we have benefited a lot from the ideas and discussions during the conference and we have also participated in the discussion in a positive way, added Dr Baloukh. He said one of the most serious issue discussed was the medicines of herbal orgin and future in the rapid global changes and new challenges.

Dr Baloukh praised the selections of the papers presented during the conference. He said the topics discussed were quite good and relevant to the recent development in the area of medicine.

The conference recommendations were centered around the need to give further importance to the researches on medicines of herbal orgin and also to raise the level and quality of pharmaceutical education and exchange of expertise and knowledge between pharmacy faculties in the Arab world.

The conference organizing committee has also organized a visit to all attendees to the Riyad Pharma Factory in Saudi Arabia Industrial area. The visitors have witnessed the manufacturing processes of the four production lines in the factory.
