"In order to compete in today's fast-moving environment, successful small to medium businesses need to create solutions based on appropriate technologies implemented well and cost effectively. Typically, today's smartest and most flexible solutions to business communications are based on Internet Protocols and on what we call converged solutions: business systems that combine voice and data to reduce costs, increase efficiencies and speed response and reaction times,"
said Nortel Vice President, Middle East, Ramin Attari.
Titled 'Dynamic IT - Small is Also Beautiful', the IDC-led seminars aim to share case studies, new approaches and the experience of a number of leading technology companies, including Acer, EMC, Scala and Trend Micro. Typically, with SMB's being defined as organisations of up to 500 employees, some two thirds of the region's SMBs do not have dedicated IT teams, according to IDC statistics, and so face challenges in specifying, deploying and managing business solutions based on IT infrastructure.
"At Nortel, we have innovative, secure and business-ready communications products purpose built for small to medium businesses. As a convergence leader, we're helping them to reduce their communications costs, simplify the administration of systems and increase productivity and customer service. That's what we'll be sharing on the road with IDC," said Attari.
The roadshow has taken place in Riyadh (January 22nd), and Doha (January 25th), and will be taking place in Amman (February 5th), Manama (February 13th), Safat (February 20th) and Dubai (February 27th).
